Well I’ve felt kind of bad about my angry posts as of late, however valid, actually I wouldn’t say that they’re angry and even if they are anger is neutral for the most part, it’s where it’s aimed at, and for the most part I would say it’s more aptly labled as a righteous indignation about these things so I shouldn’t be so hard on myself, I am genuinely pissed at those things, and to say otherwise is a lie, which I’m not going to do because it’s been regarding things that I perceive at least to be harmful and fairly sick. But in all fairness, I felt like as a Christian, maybe I need to make a good post for the point of understanding where I’m coming from, a broken heart, and disappointment. But for all my upset it is most appropriately perceived in this context, and shadowed by it’s words
1 Corinthians 13
Love
1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
I shouldn’t be upset at the people who I perceive as doing wrong, I should be blessing them, forgiving them, asking others to do the same and help invoke the love into their existence, and be shown love by me in hopes of being better somehow. Maybe in doing so they’ll stop doing the things that make me upset, when or if they don’t show love for God, and love for their neighbors as they love themselves. I hope this helps give us all something to think about this Christmas season, and for those of us who don’t have earthly families to celebrate with, know that you are loved by Our Father in Heaven, and a reward for you is great in his house for your suffering. I always have room for you at my house, my wine, my hugs and my food are yours to share, and nothing could make me happier than to do so.
God Bless and lots of Love,
Jeff
This is something very near and dear to me. It never leaves me, it never rests, it’s never far from my heart. If you catch me staring off into space, or looking disgusted when I look at paris hilton, in a way that looks pretty severe, this is probably why, and it’s the contrast I can’t help but view in the context of the rest of the world. think of all the help that could be offered if we all agreed to pitch in at once. If even for a day, think about someone other than you and help as much as you can. Think about helping UNICEF. Ok? Ok.
Love,
Jeff
Please feel free to leave any requests for prayer right here in the comments! Lots of Love, Jeff.
